Work Package Roles:

  • WP6: Researcher
I became interested in social science research while working as a Lecturer in a college of further education in England, during which time I collaborated on classroom-based action research focusing on adult literacy and e-learning. In 2007 I was awarded a studentship by the Economic and Social Research Council to undertake an MA and PhD, and my doctoral research focused on narrative constructions of adult literacy learners within their own biographical accounts and within UK policy discourse.

Since 2013, I have worked as a Researcher within the Division of Health Research at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. During this time I have worked on a number of health-related projects covering a range of subjects, including: improving palliative care for prisoners; patient experience of post-operative analgesia; ageing and wellbeing; the role of technology in health and ageing; and patient safety and dignity.

I am currently working as a Senior Research Associate on the InSup-C study with the team at the International Observatory on End of Life Care at Lancaster University.
